How far are you from the beach?
We are 12kms from Central/Beacon Island Beach.
20 minutes from Plett Central and 20 minutes from Knysna Central
Do I need to bring bedding?
We supply all bedding.
In addition, in Winter there are extra blankets and an electric blanket on the bed (except for the bunk beds in Lemon)
Do I need to bring towels?
We supply bath towels, if you have booked a long stay, we give you fresh towels after every 3 nights stay.
Please bring your own swimming towels
Is there a deep freeze in the cabin?
Each cabin has a 150litre fridge freezer. If the freezer compartment is too small for your needs, you are welcome to ask us to store your extra items.
Do the cabins have baths or showers?
The Honeymoon cabins have Jacuzzi spa baths in the bathroom with hand held shower attachments.
The 3 x standard family cabins have in-bath showers
Lemon the large family cabin which is a 2 bed roomed cabin, has two en-suite bathrooms with showers and no baths.
Are you Pet friendly?
We unfortunately cannot accommodate pets.
Where do I park my car?
Safe secure parking is in the car park at the entrance to the property.
How far is the car park from my cabin?
Depending on which cabin you have booked, cabins are approximately 30 to 175 meters from the car park.
Why can’t I park at my cabin?
There are 2 reasons:
1st: the property is surrounded by clay, it took us 3 days before we could get the last truck out of holes it had sank into, we do not want to take a chance with your car.
2nd: Our tame Deer are not car wise
How do I get my luggage and groceries to my cabin?
We have trolleys on wheels which our guest use to transport their luggage to their cabins
What must we bring?
Torches, insect repellent, swimming towels, umbrella (in case), food, Tupperware for left overs, beverages, more loo paper and warm clothing as evenings and early mornings are cool. Spices,
What do you supply us with?
A fully equipped self catering cabin, with dish towels, washing liquid & dish cloths. For your first night we supply you with wood, firelighters, matches, tea, milk, coffee, sugar & loo paper.
How far is the nearest shop?
Monday – Friday and Saturday until 3pm there is a farmstall across the road.
Kwikspar is 11kms from the farm and the Sasol Garage has a basic store which is 5kms from the farm.
The Market Square Shopping Centre is 16kms from the farm.
We do keep basics in our ‘informal snoopie’ including ice, wood, charcoal, firelighters etc.
What time is check-out?
- In Season: By 9am on your departure day.
- Normal: By 10am.
- Low Season (weekends only): Later check-out may be arranged — please confirm in advance.
Are there laundry facilities?
Yes. Weekday laundry service is available at R125 per 7kg. Washed, dried, and folded by our staff. Ask for a basket at Reception. Turnaround is usually next day.
Can we feed the deer?
Yes, they’re tame and will eat from your hand, but let them come to you. They love apples, pears and grapes, please do not feed them bread or sweets. Don’t chase or scare them. Any mistreatment will result in immediate eviction.
What should we do with garbage?
Keep garbage inside your cabin overnight. Our team will collect it from your deck in the morning. This helps protect the deer and prevent monkeys from breaking into bags.
Is the area safe?
Yes, but please be alert. Remove all valuables from your car and double-check it’s locked. When visiting town or the beach, keep valuables locked in your boot.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, but coverage is very limited. The strongest signal is near the main house. We encourage you to enjoy the break from screens.
Can our unit be serviced during our stay?
Yes, on weekdays only and by prior arrangement. Cost is R125 per day. Services happen between 9am–12pm or 2pm–4pm depending on team availability. No servicing on weekends or public holidays.
Is firewood provided?
We supply one starter bundle of wood with firelighters and matches. Extra wood is available at R30 per bundle. Ask our team and we’ll bring it to your cabin.
